THE NAPLES COLLECTION - A MINIMALIST & HIGH KEY EXPRESSION

_Z0A0585 Well, here's one series I had been wanting to do for quite some time now. I started envisioning this a while back and was inspired by some of my favorite photographers who simply excel in this for of photographic art. I have observed and studies other fellow photographers' work of this sort for many hours. It really wasn't until recently that I picked my scenario to achieve this collection. First of all the conditions have to be right. By that I mean weather, clouds (or lack of), wind, tides, and colors and hue in the environment. Ideally an overcast day is perfect for this type of art, although it is not absolutely necessary. So I headed out to Naples after choosing this place for this project. The conditions were perfect, overcast, very calm ocean, winds of about 1 to 3 miles per hour, subject was front lit, colors and hues were very cool and soft, and there were basically no clouds except for the ones you will see in this collections which basically was just one large cloud and a few scattered which gradually disappeared as the sun came up.

It was time to shoot so and pressed the shutter time and time again. I came home with about 150 files. Some were totally identical as the spread between shots must have been in some cases 1/100 sec.

Post processing is extremely easy when the shot is taken correctly and the "in camera" product is the right one. Basically I adjusted contrasts and levels to my taste (no real black point in some of these you will see). Minor dodge & burning to bring out certain focus points and that's it.

I hope this collection is something you enjoy viewing and hopefully hang at one point or another.

Hope everyone is doing great and getting ready for the weekend shooting. As always, thanks for stopping by and viewing my work, I appreciate it

Enjoy the collection!
